Cold laser therapy
Cold laser, faster recovery.
Unlike traditional pain control that suppresses inflammation, cold laser therapy uses infrared light emissions to encourage the body's cells to reduce inflammation — which in turn decreases swelling, pain, and recovery time. Sessions are short, non-invasive, and included free in every surgical package we offer.
What it does
Light therapy, not magic.
Cold laser (also called Low-Level Laser Therapy or LLLT) directs specific wavelengths of infrared light into tissue. The energy is absorbed by mitochondria in cells at the injury site, which respond by increasing ATP production — accelerating cellular repair, reducing inflammation, and improving local circulation.
It's used in human sports medicine for the same reasons. The result for pets is less swelling, less pain, and faster recovery — particularly useful at surgical incision sites.
When we use it
Standard with every surgery package.
We include a cold-laser session in every flat-rate surgical package. Most pets receive treatment over the incision at their first recheck visit, with additional sessions available if recovery is slower than expected.
We also offer cold laser as a standalone service for arthritis management, post-injury recovery (when surgery isn't indicated), and chronic joint conditions in older pets.
Common questions
Quick answers.
Does it hurt?
Not at all. Most pets describe it (via behavior) as a mild warming sensation. The laser is 'cold' in the sense that it doesn't produce thermal damage like a surgical laser would.
How many sessions does my pet need?
Surgical recovery: 1 session is included in the flat rate; additional sessions can be added if needed. Arthritis or chronic pain management: typically 6–10 initial sessions over a few weeks, then maintenance every few months.
How long is each session?
10 to 15 minutes for most surgical recheck applications. Standalone treatments for arthritis or chronic conditions can run 15–25 minutes depending on the body area.
