Torigen is a personalized cancer treatment that uses your pet's own tumor cells to create a vaccine designed to stimulate the immune system to recognize and fight cancer cells. We coordinate with your primary vet on candidate selection and post-treatment monitoring throughout the protocol.
How Torigen works
Trained on your pet's tumor.
After a tumor is surgically removed (or biopsied), we send the tissue to the Torigen lab. They process the cells and use them to manufacture a personalized vaccine specifically targeted at the proteins your pet's tumor expresses.
The vaccine is administered as a series of injections, typically over the weeks following surgery. The goal is to help your pet's immune system identify and clear any remaining cancer cells the surgery didn't catch — and to recognize and attack any future recurrence.
Candidate selection
Not every tumor, not every patient.
Torigen has the strongest evidence behind it for specific tumor types — soft tissue sarcomas, mast cell tumors, osteosarcoma, and several others. It's an adjunct treatment, not a replacement for surgical removal of the primary tumor.
We coordinate with your primary vet and any oncologist involved in your pet's care to decide whether Torigen makes sense in your specific situation. The biopsy or surgical specimen needs to be handled correctly from the moment of removal — we'll walk you through the logistics.

Does my pet need cancer surgery to get Torigen?
Yes — Torigen is made from your pet's own tumor cells, so we need tissue (either a complete surgical removal or a substantial biopsy) before the vaccine can be manufactured.
How is it administered?
As a series of subcutaneous injections over several weeks. We can either deliver them here or coordinate with your primary vet to give the injections closer to home.
Is it covered by pet insurance?
Many insurance plans cover cancer treatment including immunotherapy — check your specific policy. We'll provide the documentation needed for a claim.
